Apple announced the fourth-generation iPad Pro on March 18, 2020. The fourth-generation iPad Pro features an Apple A12Z processor, with eight-core CPU and GPU, support for WiFi 6, and an upgraded camera setup with a 12MP wide camera, a 10MP ultra-wide camera, and a LiDAR scanner for augmented reality. From the third-generation to fourth-generation, RAM was increased from 4 to 6 GB on the 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB models, and remains at 6 GB for the 1 TB model. The base storage option was doubled from 64 GB in the third-generation to 128 GB in the fourth-generation. A new Magic Keyboard was announced for release in May, which includes a trackpad, backlit keys, USB-C port for passthrough charging, and a cantilever design allowing the iPad Pro to ‘float’ above the keys. The Magic Keyboard is also compatible with the third-generation iPad Pro.

iOS devices can’t have an OS installed on them that is newer than what Apple decides is available to it. For MacOS however, depending on the age of the device we can upgrade and install a newer OS than what is offered through regular updates. These will show as “Open Core”.
