The Apple Watch Series 9 and the Apple Watch Ultra 2 were announced on September 12, 2023, during an Apple Special Event. Pre-orders opened that same day, with earliest shipping dates starting on September 22. Aluminum case models of the Series 9 are available in Midnight, Silver, Starlight, Product Red as well as Pink, a new color for the line. Stainless steel models are available in Silver, Graphite and Gold like the previous Series 8. Both the Series 9 and Ultra 2 pack the new S9 chip which enables new functionalities like on-device offline processing for Siri, new ultra-wideband chip to help you find a missing iPhone and Double Tap which recognizes when the user double taps their index finger and thumb together. Depending on the screen, this can act as the primary button or scroll like the digital crown. The screens on both devices has also been upgraded to boosts the maximum brightness. Apple also announced that the Series 9 and Ultra 2 would be its first-ever carbon-neutral products (depending on the selected case material and band).

Operating System Info

iOS devices can’t have an OS installed on them that is newer than what Apple decides is available to it. For MacOS however, depending on the age of the device we can upgrade and install a newer OS than what is offered through regular updates. These will show as “Open Core”. 

What does the cosmetic condition mean?
  • Grade "A"
    Grade "A" condition means the device is fully functional including all core and auxiliary features. Grade "A" devices will have little to no visible wear, and are generally as close to new as possible. Battery Health will be 85% or higher.
  • Grade "B"
    Grade "B" condition means the device is fully functional including all core and auxiliary features. Grade "B" devices will have average visible wear, including scratches on the display and frame. Most used devices are considered a "B" condition. Battery Health will be 81% or higher.
  • Grade "C"
    Grade "C" devices will have more-than-average visible wear, and some will have a major cosmetic blemish (such as medium to heavy scratches on the display or frame). Battery Health will be 80% or higher.
