Mac mini got a much anticipated refresh in October 2014, bringing Haswell CPUs, better graphics, lower price for the base model, while the chassis remained nearly the same. The Mac mini (Late 2014) features Intel Iris graphics, which greatly outperform the Intel HD Graphics 4000 in the previous models. The CPUs are also more energy efficient: their maximal thermal design point (TDP) is 37% lower than the 2012 models. The memory in the Mac mini is no longer upgradable.

iOS devices can’t have an OS installed on them that is newer than what Apple decides is available to it. For MacOS however, depending on the age of the device we can upgrade and install a newer OS than what is offered through regular updates. These will show as “Open Core”.
