The ninth-generation iPad uses the same design as the seventh and eighth generation iPads. It is compatible with Apple Pencil (1st generation), Smart Keyboard and Smart Connector for keyboard attachments. It uses the Apple A13 Bionic chip, which Apple claims gives a 20% CPU, GPU, and Neural Engine increase in performance compared to its predecessor. It features a 10.2-inch Retina display identical to the previous models with 1620 by 2160 pixels at a pixel density of 264 PPI, and includes the True Tone technology, meaning the display can adjust its temperature based on the surrounding lighting temperature. A new 12 MP front camera was implemented in the iPad, replacing the older 1.2 MP front camera, and features the Center Stage technology that detects the user and moves the camera view accordingly during video recording and calls using on-device processing. The base storage has also been doubled to 64 GB.

Operating System Info

iOS devices can’t have an OS installed on them that is newer than what Apple decides is available to it. For MacOS however, depending on the age of the device we can upgrade and install a newer OS than what is offered through regular updates. These will show as “Open Core”.

What does the cosmetic condition mean?
  • Grade "A"
Grade "A" condition means the device is fully functional including all core and auxiliary features. Grade "A" devices will have little to no visible wear, and are generally as close to new as possible. Battery Health will be 85% or higher.
  • Grade "B"
Grade "B" condition means the device is fully functional including all core and auxiliary features. Grade "B" devices will have average visible wear, including scratches on the display and frame. Most used devices are considered a "B" condition. Battery Health will be 81% or higher.
  • Grade "C"
Grade "C" devices will have more-than-average visible wear, and some will have a major cosmetic blemish (such as medium to heavy scratches on the display or frame). Battery Health will be 80% or higher.
